This is from a backpacking trip. This glorious view was how I was greeted the first morning as I looked over Lake Chickenfoot in the Red Rock Creek section of the eastern Sierra. This is oil on linen, mounted on a gatorboard panel. Framed in a silver leaf plein air style frame.

I painted this on a trip to Tomalas Bay near one of the oyster shack restaurants. I love this area. It feels like a trip back in time, and this this old farm out on a private peninsula looks like it probably witnessed the gold rush here in California.

I was drawn to this scene with the combination of both stillness, movement and reflections in the water. This is a scene near my home in Palo Alto, CA.
I painted this piece after getting up at 4am to drive in the dark to be at this location for sunrise.
I arrived on site and discovered that I had failed to pack my easel, but it was just so beautiful that I rigged together a setup with parts I happened to have with me and I my efforts were rewarded with this beautiful.
